Wood & Composite Repair

WOOD REPAIR

When repairs beyond normal service are necessary, Moes can help get you back on the water. For wood, we use time-honored methods learned by Grandpa Mike during his service in WWII in the Coast Guard and while supporting Vermilion’s fishing fleet upon his return from the Pacific.

Each subsequent generation has built on that foundation, but with the luxury of modern tools and materials (specifically epoxies). Our experience spans various types of wood boat construction repair, including Lymans, Chris-Crafts and Matthews. We’ve developed a close relationship with Lyman Boatworks in order to utilize original Lyman tooling, templates and tools in Lyman structural repairs. This allows us to expertly service the high density of Lymans in our area (including 20 Lymans stored at our yard).

COMPOSITE REPAIR

Over the last decade, our relationship with MJM Yachts has allowed us to add capabilities in the discipline of composite repair. By bringing in new talent to the Moes Marine team, on both sailboats and powerboats, we can perform simple gelcoat to more complicated structural laminate repairs by vacuum-bagging techniques, leaving no visible evidence of repair.

In the sailboat speed shop, we repair keels, perform repairs due to on-course collisions, and bring boats back to fully-faired hull and foils.

WE're Also proud to be an authorized service center for Boston Boatwork's-Built yachts.
