For Sale – 1986 26′ Skiffcraft Inboard Runabout – $29,750

UPDATE 10/01/2014 – Price reduced to $29,750.

This 26′ Skiffcraft Runabout is a one-owner boat built special from the Skiffcraft factory in Plain City, OH with and inboard Chrysler 440 (5.9L, 275HP) with electronic ignition.  The boat has been used moderately (789 hours) and has been well maintained the entire time.  The owners brought the boat to us in the mid-2000’s for some refinishing and has been stored here since and docked here until this past year.  This summer the boat is in Rocky River but will be returning to Moes Marine for storage this winter.

A few years ago some rot was discovered in the port garboard plank in the aft third of the boat.  Because of the Skiffcraft construction method with the keel placed on top of the two garboard planks (compared to a Lyman where the garboards are fitted to the keel), both garboard planks were replaced at the same time (a total length of approximately 8 feet starting at the transom) and the removed section of the keel.

This past spring we were commissioned to perform some minor structural repairs and refinish the boat in preparation for one last season of use and listing for sale of the market.  You can see photos and discussion of that project here on our website.

The 275HP Chrysler 360 runs very well and was professionally examined and seatrialed prior to delivery to owners this spring.  The boat also includes a tandem trailer with 4 new tires replaced this spring.

About Mike

I pinch myself every day... I can't believe I'm back in Vermilion working at the boatyard! I grew up spending afternoons and summer days working at Moes Marine. I moved to Boston after college and met my wonderful wife, Maura, while living life in the big city and working at Boston BoatWorks. We traveled and volunteered abroad for 9 months in 2009 and then found our way back to our families in Ohio. We are now living in downtown Vermilion with our son, Owen, who visits the boatyard daily at coffee break!
